Title: Z1000SX Torque Settings
Post by: gaz1000sx on 30 Jul 12, 08:15:23
A kind guy at Kawasaki UK HQ sent me these.

I have to say I've owned a torque wrench for years now and it still hasn't said anything?

(The old ones are always the best)

Guys, are the torque settings for the oil sump bolt and oil filter 25nm and 17nm respectively?
Not being lazy, but possibly blind... can't see it on the pdf attached up top!

Thanks

Stevo

Is the torque setting ( 64 N/m) for the chain adjuster clamp bolts correct ? Seems high compared to the  39N/m for the similar set up on my ZRX. Thanks in advance.

It's correct (at least up to 2016) and has been the same since at least the 2013 models.

It is correct but I agree it does feel awfully tight. I follow it though.
