New Scottoiler X-System
« on: April 09, 2018, 12:33:09 PM »
Hi Guys

May be of interest to some of you. Scottoiler are to release a new X-System chain oiler. It will sit between the 'V' system and 'E' system, although in my mind it looks to be the preferred system of the three.

Everything is mounted on the oil reservoir, the control unit etc... thus no need for a dirty great fugly control unit mounted on your bars. There's also a button on the reservoir to purge the oil down the tube to the outlet on the sprocket! No more need to find or dig down to the engine vac system too as it's wired directly off the battery.

Only downside (although not a total loss) is it's gonna be knocking on the door of £200 sobs! We've paid more for less?

More info...

I have Tutoro chain oilers on both my bikes, work really well. The new Scottoiler does look good though.

crazy prices from scottoiler.. they got their brand covered thats for sure..

I recently got the Cobra Nemo 2

It's so simple to operate, and you don't need to attach to battery or engine in any way..

It operates by just turning it to create a vacuum, and then it will start dripping the chain while you drive at a slow pace for a minute or 2, I tend to do it everytime i fill up, or if I run in the rain I'll do it after the rain is over..

The best part, there is no adjustment all the time depending on weather and oil used .. as it's manual vacuum and it will drip a certain amount out based on that..

It will give about 3 - 5k km per fillup so will cover most long trips, you can always bring a small bottle to top up.

ive just fitted a loobman. I had to make a small bracket from a strip of aluminum and bought  P clip to go round the bottle. I always lub my chain after every trip so just use it as a bit of a back up extra.
