Stunning in the flesh.

As above, there is a slightly more lent forward riding position which won't suit some.

Looking forward to a test ride when they land.

The Z9's look awesome, the Cafe is the pick of em IMO.

Agree the new 900 is stunning. The H2sx looks nice but sadly is a bit porky.  Nice but not for me and at 256 kgs it's way too weighty.  Also the service intervals are still the daft 3750 thing.  However, spent some time on the KTM stand and the 1290 Gt is looming larger in my thoughts.  Much larger.

Not much difference from the Z1000SX then with 4000/annual service intervals? Although maybe more expensive?
I thought I was getting away from crazy short service intervals when I traded in my MV Agusta, although the service costs are half the price now.  :008:

Kawasaki service intervals are relics and once warranty is passed can and should be ignored for simple sense IMO!

I now have mine serviced every 6k, plugs every 15k.

With just under 40k on the clock and only a starter motor replaced, I feel very confidante in making the above statement  :002:

If we're being honest, the ludicrous service intervals are far and away the worst thing about owning an SX, if you're determined to keep that warranty! Mind you, the way I've been thrashing mine this first year of ownership, I'm still managing to go through a set of tires between each service... Can't imagine the supercharger will reduce that problem :l

Somebody said it's a lot of dough for a fat sportsbike/compromised tourer - and I definitely see where that's coming from. You just have to look at it the same as the 14R and the Hayabusa; you're paying a premium for a really exceptional engine and top speed.

That said, I'm still sorely tempted for the sheer torque. They haven't let us properly hear the soundtrack for it anywhere, have they? If it has that special supercharger sound I might not be able to resist.

EDIT: Obviously the Hayabusa is a lot cheaper! I meant paying a premium as in making sacrifices elsewhere to make the most of the engine :)

When I first saw this, I was getting massively excited and really wanted one.  The price isn't bad either.  But it's the 2 wheeled equivalent of a Lexus LC500; pretty lardy yet high spec'd grand tourer.  Pretty odd styling that would I'm sure would grow on me, hopefully not like a rash!  I don't think it's going to have the agility or all roundness of the Z1000SX.

Some of the best fun I've had on a bike was at the 2014 Spring meet blasting around some of Yorkshire's finest roads, and I don't think the H2SX would have been as much fun.  I measure my motoring in smiles per (thousand) pound, and I still believe the Z hits the spot.

If the stories are still true, and H2SX is very much planting this seed firmly, then we're likely to see something like a Z900SX supercharged soon.  Lighter, even more fun, easier to ride with broader torque courtesy of a blown engine, and even more fuel efficient.  So I'm absolutely chuffed to bits that H2SX is the halo model leading the way for the rest of them, and I'm more than happy to hang on to see what's coming next, even though my 2011 bike is getting a little wrinkly now.

Just back from the show and got to say, I'm in love with it!  :celebrate:
It'll be very interesting to see what kawasaki do with the tech over the next couple of years, but this will be my next bike I think.
Test rides from February next year will be either the icing on the cake, or death of the idea, but for now I'm still smiling thinking about it  :001:
