Today, I got my SX insured for Friday, sneaky barstewards...

When I rang for a quote to transfer the policy it came out at £55 more than the SDGT, more than I expected but Okay.

Today, rang and gave them the registration of my bike, slightly older and less valuable than the one which I had used for the quote but Green rather than Silver... £124 extra and apparently that's with a hefty discount.

Changed the spark plugs, first time they have been done @15000 miles. A time consuming job, fairing, tank and air box off. Number 1 plug was and absolute b******. As the fairings are off it gives a chance to give everything a good clean.

Good that they've lasted 15K - can't believe Kawasaki specify replacement at 7600 miles/2 years, talk about overkill and for iridium plugs too.

15k is nothing for NGK IR Plugs, NGK say the IR plugs are good for 60-120k Miles. Even if that is a manufactures "exaggeration" and you knock it to 50% of that (30k miles) at 15k miles they are still in their life span infancy.

I agree that Kawasaki saying to change at 7.5k miles is ridiculous and most sensible dealers will give you the option and generally say its not needed, that its your choice if you want to spend out on the labour to do it.

Today I did pull it out of the garage and take the fairings off to fit a usb charger with volt meter (Green) and an Evotech radiator guard. While it was all naked I got my ebay special paint gun out and treated the bike with ACF-50.

I also got to use my new spinner T-bar

This may help somebody still looking for a stand so you can work on your bike.
I used to have an Abba stand for a previous bike but stupidly sold it. I use a Constands hydraulic dolly for the rear wheel to spin the bike around in a tight space and was about to pull the trigger on another Abba stand at £110 plus delivery (including fitting kit) when I spotted a Constands lift identical to an Abba stand which included a fitting kit and delivery for £68.19 from Motea of Germany.

Ah yes, skid marks and biking often go together.
