Had my 2nd service today at 3500.all looked good Inc oil changed. Only advisory was rear brake fluid looked quite dark so could do with changing soon which I thought was odd for only 3.5k and less than one year.

I have to regularly do slow riding in traffic and use the rear brake for it so perhaps thats the reason but I did the same commute on my 650 and 7.5k miles and no issues what so ever.

Anyone have any recs for brake fluid? Dot 4 I believe

Does it have to be motorcycle specific labeled?

Looks like a few others have experienced this issue:-

It does seem a bit premature to me but yes DOT4 and just ordinary brake fluid, about £4.50 from a motor factors I think.

As usual there are many different brands at various prices but I've always used as above on my other bikes, as long as it's DOT4.

It seems to be fairly common.

Top tip. Wrap the fork legs in something as you rotate it slight which means the metal clips holding the brake lines in place can scratch the legs.

Good tip. Thank you

Fitted the Telferiser GPS screen mount as I wasn't keen on the standard mount.

Fitted the SW Motech Evo City tank bag.

Cheers to those who posted about these things on the forum, that's what persuaded me to get both the gps mount and the tank bag.  I'm well happy with them  :028:

I’ve had a busy couple of days. Fitted front and rear fender extenders, tail tidy, rad guard, heated grips and a good coating of ACF50 everywhere hopefully keep it looking new. Most importantly I took the ‘fixed’ baffles out of the Akras. 😁 The tail tidy wasn’t fun at all and the front mudguard ended up having to have the wheel removed first due to those stupid riveted on clips 🙄
