Incorrect bike to registration

Hi all,
Found what appears to be a cracker of a Z.
However looking at insuruance quotes the registration shows it to be a H2 and yet gov.uk states it as z1000sx
I think I should run.
Thoughts?

I’d be inclined to go with the gov answer. If in doubt you can try inputting the vin number on the Cradley Kawasaki UK parts website and see what comes up

 On most insurance comparison sites, my z1000sx comes up as a H2.

 Usually you can pick a menu with options and lists of bikes, and pick your bike     from list.

 I went with Bennett’s in the end, rung them and they had it as H2 as well, the telephone handler went through the options list with me over the phone and we found the correct bike, no problem. Interestingly they don’t have the WJF model on the their list ( or they didn’t then, we will see this year at renewal)

 No need to run.

Just looked on classifieds and the 1st 2 I check also come up on comparison sites as H2's

I’ve had the same issue with my 2020 Ninja1000SX.

Insurance companies also don’t seem to have/understand the Tourer, Performance or both variants either. No such problems with the previous Z1000SX or the H2 models. Makes me a little nervous in case the miss-understanding continued following a claim….

Just make sure that it is captured correctly on your proposal, then there can be no issues.

And yes it always comes up as an H2 or H2SX for me as well.

This is a very common and well known issue!! Even my 2017 comes back as a H2 on insurance company sites (when using a reg no lookup) I'm sure it's a un fixed issue from the dvla database that is used for reg no lookups , the best way to do insurance quotes is to enter the bike make and model details (those with touring / performance touring packs select that model as then the akras, seat cowl panniers...... Are all covered, the good thing is, I've found next to no difference in cost between a baseline bike and touring/performance touring bike by doing this, yet if you add those items as extras to the baseline the price can go up) then add the reg no. Do not search via reg no lookup. For anyone just using the reg no lookup check 100% that it has picked up its a z10000sx / ninja 1000sx and NOT a H2
