2022 Touring plans....
on: 08 Jan 22, 05:22:12
Evening Everyone

Happy new year to you all.

So on 19th June i am booked on the Plymouth to Santander sailing and i then have 13 days to leisurely ride to Amsterdam to get the overnight ferry to Newcastle then a short blast back home to Carlisle. Fingers crossed for full unrestricted travel across Europe by then or my plans may change a bit. This time i have booked 3 days off the bike completely in Toulon France, Asti in Italy and Freiburg in southern Germany as last time i felt it was all head down ass up and crack on all day every day.

Anyone else got any big trips booked just out of interest?

Cheers  :820:

I’ve got ferries and hotels booked and routes mapped out for a 14 day Spain tour in May and another for 21 days in September. I’m going everywhere: Pyrenees, Andalusia, Gibraltar, Portugal, Picos.

Trying to make amends for last 2 years of going nowhere!

All on free cancellation in case Covid trashes things yet again…

Sounds like 2 really good trips Ed

Im the same in that im desperate for this trip to happen for my sanity  :008: but also everything booked so far can be cancelled or moved if its needed to but im praying it dosent come to this.

If i cant get into Europe il probably look at the Wild Atlantic Way or the NC500 again as il have to 2 weeks holiday in so il have to make sure i do something

Both of those routes are superb, even if repeating them for the umpteenth time. I’ve not been touring  since Sept 2019, so I’m desperate to go somewhere too. If covid scuppers my Spanish trips then I’m definitely touring the far corners of the British Isles (with vaccine booster beforehand and packing  masks and cleaning wipes etc).

Yes agreed on what you have said Ed, i am also desperate to get some touring miles in.

I have already had the conversation with my travel pal that if we cant get into Europe we will use the 2 weeks to travel the 4 corners of the UK or something along those lines. January is fast disappearing so it will be here before we know it  :062:

A few of us did Yorkshire last year. Some great roads around there.

We're off to Ireland this year. A few days on the south and east coast.

Booked a five night trip in northern Spain with Brittany Ferries again. Glad I waited as the price actually came down by almost £100 from when I first enquired in November. Role on July! Cheers,Bladesman.

Junes route penciled in, similar to 2017 as we enjoyed that one so much but not doing Andorra.
Cant wait to get back on the N-260 in Spain, what a road  :001:
