Hi All,

New to this forum I bought a 2017 1000sx in September a big change from my Moto Guzzi 1200 sport. The Guzzi as much as I loved it had to go following problems with ethanol in fuel the plastic fuel tank blistering etc.
After reading loads of reviews I chose the 1000sx and I love it. I enjoy the power delivery and the ease of riding in 6th gear no matter what speed. Brakes superb power modes etc useful.

A few negatives as expected I found the seat really uncomfortable and at my age the bars a little too low I have fitted a Sergeant seat and Moto CNC bar risers which have transformed the comfort levels. My other gripe is the Dash its full of useful information but so difficult to read especially in bright sunshine.

I'm looking forward to putting some big miles on it this year hopefully in Europe.

Welcome.

I have a 2017 SX as well.  I agree that the dash is not the best.  I find some of the detail hard to read but that's more a function of my eyesight than criticism of the dash.  That said I find that all I really need to know is outside temperature, fuel range, speed and engine speed, anything else is superfluous.

   Welcome to the forum and to your new Z1000SX.

   You don't have to spend long on this forum to know that most owners complain about the hard seat, (on what is classed as a sports tourer)  I did get used to mine eventually and never swopped it for a better one, but being a bit fat and being even more Yorkshire helped with the ergonomics and economics, respectively.

Yes, the seat can be a little tiresome, especially on a long journey.
The earlier seats were really uncomfortable, they improved slightly in 2016.
First time I did a seven hour trip i realised that i had to do something about the seat.
I looked around for a second hand one but they seemed to get snapped up quickly, especially the Kawasaki gel ones. 
I went to Andy Swan, from arse customer seats near Bournemouth Airport. (yes i know..) 
I am very pleased with the results, lot easier on the wallet than the better known branded ones, and now i can ride the bike until its time to fill up the tank without a problem.
Could you provide as link to the risers you got?

The bar risers I fitted are by a company called Moto Cnc a google search should take you to them
