Genuine accessory plug
on: 26 Nov 21, 06:47:03
Bought the Kawasaki accessory plug with the bike but was on back order. Received it with a hopeless instruction sheet but dealer said it was just a plug taped to the loom.
Found that but that is a square plug and the accessory loom has a kind of rounded rectangular one plus the loom seems really short. Anyone fitted one and am I looking at the wrong plug on the bike’s loom?

Do you have a pic of the plug (bike side) that you're looking at?

From what I have seen from other posts on this forum, the wiring (bike side) has both the male and female part of the connector on it, all you will need to do is disconnect the male part of the connector and plug in the connector attached to the accessory socket.

Not without dismantling it all again.
Yes I know that but it’s like a round peg in to a square hole scenario.

If you bought an actual OE accessory (I'm surmising you mean the USB plug ??? if I'm wrong .. sorry  :164: ) for your specific bike from Kawasaki, then it would be a plug and play as the connector is as stated taped to the loom under the dash where you would expect it to be.

Have you got a link to the part on the kawasaki website ???

I would go back too the shop and get them to fit it, if you concerned, as they sold it to you ...

The accessory connectors under the left panel are bullet connectors. I am presuming the connectors for the USB plug fitment under the dash are bullet connectors also.

It’s the 12v cigar lighter plug that goes on the LH side

Sorry Tardis. I just noticed your bike is a 2021 ...  :oh_no: I was referencing a 2018 model. Im presuming they wouldn't change that much though.

Change That ..... They have changed the plugs.

Just did various searches online and it definitely shows a standard square profile plug. Ive attached a youtube link for you ...

The guy isn't using an OE accessory plug but he does show the bike side plug. At about 7 minute 15 seconds. Hope that helps.

Now that I see what the bike side plug looks like, I did another search and I found an OE specific 12v accessory showing the other side of the plug ... So it is definitely a plug and play ...
