i bought some second hand off here and they seem to retain a puddle of water and go rusty. i thinkl they will benefit from drilling a small hole to allow water to drain.
anyone else found this?

i had a pair of these on my 2017 sx , had the single one on my 2019 sx h2 se ,and now the single one on my 2021 sx , i get the polished stainless steel never had a sign of rust, really happy with the looks the sound and the big weight saving,    if the plans go through with the governments plans they will try and stop modifacations to your bikes !! i think they have also brought forward the date from when you will not be able to buy a new petrol powered motorcycle .    that will be a sad day !!!!

Never had a problem!! I don’t wash my bikes but if I did I wouldn’t wash inside of my exhaust if you do dry it !! As for rain ????  My exhaust gets rather hot !! Any moisture you get will evaporate on any exhaust

lol you think i wash the inside of my exhaust?

the point i'm making is due to the angle, any water that finds its way into the exhaust stays there and can rust away.

you dont wash your bikes keith?

whilst touring scotland this summer three nights the bike was left parked outside in the rain. and i rode through torrential rain for 140 miles on the way home and once home the last thing i wanted to do was dry the bike off.
next day job.

i was taking the mick on washing inside your exhaust!! saying that i do polish inside of my slash cut, a bit solvol onmy mop and it fits perfect inside the pipe with my battery drill , i know sad! i think it is a bit over the top expecting water to collect inside of the slash cut . you can change its angle slightly its up to you how you want it to look, any exhaust could potentially take some water in depending on the wind and angle it comes down, like i said its a bit over the top!! never had a problem and these are good quality polished stainless steel not chrome, as for the washing never washed my bikes ,if i have been caught and the bike has got really dirty i use no more than a damp sponge , all other times the bike is cleaned with waterless wax. using power washes or completely soaking my bike does not appeal to me , the water gets every were on the bike no matter how good at drying you will always get some water left behind , then it will rust or cause electrical probs, all of my bikes have been totally mint when i have moved them on polished to death. just my opininion.

almost every day in scotland/northumberland it rained and parked outside tourist spots such as banburgh castle for 4 hours water gets in. and they rust.
its not just me. i bought them from someone off here. and guess what?
they were already rusty inside.
so to normal "non anal polishers" they will rust.
and thats why i think a simple drain hole could cure this and just wondered if anyone had tried this?

i use a pet dryer to get rid of every drop of water after washing. but the hour or so its wet rusting occurs.

just my opinion , as i said  i dont wash my bikes , good stainless steel  does not rust, any water will evaporate when you start your bike , you will be hard pushed to see any dust on my  bikes never mind rust ,

keith i dont know what you are trying to say with all your posts, its almost as if you refuse to believe me that these rust.
"any water will evaporate when you start the bike up?"
but what if its been there for days or weeks?

you do know mild steel starts to rust within minutes?
also any petrol fumes that condense in the silencer may  contain ethanol and that loves absorbing water.

im gonna drill a drain hole.
