My other rides

I normally have two bikes. An every day ride and something different.

This is my current "something different"

MV Agusta 800RR SCS 2020

It might have a load of electronics but it's completely raw to ride. 140bhp and about 179kg. It's tiny. It's good old fashioned seat of your pants riding. It's happiest with the throttle cracked open, which is when you get rewarded with an intoxicating induction and an orchestra of teaching angels from that triple engine.

that looks very capable Kwacky. maybe a bit too capable. i assume it has electronics so you can turn it down a bit?

be nice to be able to master it and turn it all off and say goodbye to reality (and your licence no doubt)

i found when i had a bike that was more than a match for me i rode slower almost scared of it.
i could thrash a 2000 zx6r but an 04 zx10 scared the pants off me. a 98 zx9r is about as much as i can take power wise.
sit on it and give it full throttle everywhere.

that looks scary to me.

The electronics can be adjusted. There's some standard settings and a personal set up option. B

I know what you mean. I had a Versys 650. Heavy, under powered and soft suspension. But I could ride the nuts off it and have a real giggle doing so.

650 Versys is a much under-rated bike. Does anything reasonably well is super comfy and you can rag it almost everywhere and not risk your licence.

Sold mine to a mate, and nearly bought it back off him when he was selling as he wasn't using it much.

i was gonna buy a versys before plumping for an sx
a bigger one though. they seem to be a bit  more niche or specialised, whereas the sx seems happy to  do almost everything (apart from the adventure stuff but im a wimp on anything other than prime tarmac)

think it was only the weight that was the decider coming from a gt1400 and wanting something as light as possible

Despite the looks the Versys is a really good all rounder. Just not very powerful. I did trips to France and the Isle of Man on mine and it was used for commuting. It had over 30,000 miles on it when I sold it. It still looked really good.
