Release the power, shhh!
on: 08 May 21, 07:56:26
Just wanting to know if anyone has suggestions, or first hand experience out there.
I have the 2016 SX and it is all standard apart from some lever sets.
I am wanting to change the exhaust to release some power following an ECU flash. But i don't want it super loud either. I just decatted my Z900RS and was very surprised to hear how loud it is, even with the standard end can.  :005: It appears that the bread bin and the CAT do the vast majority of the sound deadening. [the stock pipe is just straight through and not force muffled]
And thats fine for the RS, its great in fact! but not for the SX for touring, at least for me anyway.
I know i can just change the end cans and get a better, deeper tone, slightly louder and all that -but is it even worth it when the engine is struggling to breathe through the CAT and bread bin (resonator muffle).

Any experiences on ECU flashing with the CAT and bread bin still on the bike?? Did it make any difference?

Also, someone somewhere must have had the bread box opened up, de-restricted and stitched back together without turning it into a roaring monster?

I have the Lextek full system on my 2016. It has removable baffles if you like. It showed 140 rear wheel bhp on bsd's dyno after the ECU refresh.

Hi Peter,
Is that one of the Lextek single sided GP8C, XP8C or XP13C models?
