Replace 2013 shock
on: 30 Apr 21, 04:31:34
Hi all,

Thinking of replacing my rear shock on my 2013 z1000sx which does not have the remote adjuster for this one below, has anyone done this before and is it as easy as i believe it to be (straight swap and fit remote adjuster to where it would be on a 2014 bike)

Thoughts and advice always appreciated

It should be simple enough.  You will need a footrest hanger from a 2014 onwards bike.

I put a Nitron shock on my 2011 and its a fairly easy swap over. A bit tricky but easily do-able with a decent set of tools and a bit of time. :028:

I fitted a Maxton shock to my 2011 SX and it transformed the handling.  Definitely money well spent.

:461: I had a 13 plate and swapped mine for a Nitron NTR2 out of all the mods I did that was the best made it turn in so much better and hold it's line brilliantly

Thanks all, a Nitron shock or other would be great but budget doesnt allow for that, this bike was never about handling etc (ive got the Ninja for that) this was more about longer journey comfort and convenience, the remote adjuster on a newer Z shock would make my life easier and is only £200 so means i dont have to keep getting spanners out to adjust it..

if it was about making this better in corners etc id have gone for a ZX10, but im getting a little too old for sports bikes these days... nice to have the choice though!!

thanks again
