I suspect that Oxford say that as it removes the part of the installation that is outside of their control.

They are designed to shut off when they detect the current drop. You also get a healthier current supply first from the battery through the Oxford cables

So long as the accessory wiring and the connections in the supply and earth are is in good condition it really shouldn't give you a significant voltage drop.

As Oxford have designed these to be wired direct to the battery then that is obviously an acceptable installation.  My personal preference would always be to only have items permanently powered if they have to be.

They are still only live when turned on   The control unit switches itself off if you don’t

You won't cope with that heat for long, they really do get hot, especially if you wear summer gloves
