Not worth a service bill next year ?
on: 16 Oct 20, 06:37:48
Are you going to get your bike serviced after this horrid riding year?
I am fortunate to have a few bikes and with the Covid-19 lockdowns etc etc etc I have only done about 1000 miles on my ZX this year.   Bike is a 2019 model ( one of the first in 2018 ! ) so now out of warranty.  I intend to change just the oil next spring and give her a check over but won't be taking it to the dealer this time...not for 1000 miles.
Anyone else going down this route ( my bike only has about 3,500 miles  on her in total and has been always feckled by the dealer )

Didn't get her serviced this year - just changed the oil and filter myself.

Yes, you may not have a stamp in the book when you go to sell it, but…….

I have a 2017 bought new and now on 20,000 miles. Full Kawasaki history to date, but have only done 1200 miles this year so I just changed the oil and filter myself - easy job. Brake fluid was looking a bit dark though, so I got the Kawasaki dealer to change it.

Got a new 2020 Ninja and have managed to do 4800 miles this year.
Bike will be garaged and sorned from the 1st November until 1st March next year.
Have given up winter riding and battling with salty roads many years ago.
I will be doing a oil and filter change myself and will keep the receipts.
Certainly not paying a dealer £XX? to do the same thing.
The next time my bike will see a dealer will be for the valve clearance check.
Everything else will be done by me other than tyre fitting.
Have not had a warranty claim on a jap bike for about 25 years now 👍🏻
