Ninja 1000 SX insurance cost
on: 08 Oct 20, 04:54:03
Initially less than chuffed to find today, that my insurance bump for 7 months on my new Ninja, which I am collecting on Saturday,  is almost the same as last year's Kawasaki insurance policy for my 2017 performance tourer. A bit happier when I did a quick check for a new 12 month policy and the cheapest is still with Kawasaki at over double the premium bump. At least in May 21 I will have 5 years NCB which should reduce it. Of note, the quote page still doesn't display the Ninja 1000 SX 1000 tourer or performance tourer, just the basic bike.

Of my last 4 bikes the Kawasaki is the cheapest (New price) and least powerful (Multistrada 1200, MT-10, Superduke GT) and the most expensive to insure, the only major change is that I have more NCB now and the SX has a tracker.

The only thing that I can think of is that it is such a popular and numerous bike that there are a lot more claims against the Z1000SX than my previous 3, making it a perceived higher risk of a claim. Renaming the new bike Ninja and bringing it into the sports side of the Kawasaki family won't help that one.

Give BEMOTO a ring, just cost me £67 to add the SX onto my existing Gixxer policy (pro rata works out at £124) for platinum cover, every possible extra including European breakdown cover. Gixxer only cost £187 for 12 months  :028:
