Yw, I originally ordered one for a triumph sprint Rs (renound for the sprag clutch blowing due to a weak battery) resulting in a £900 repair as it was an engine out job, it was in that bike for 3 years, when I bought the suzuki sv1000z I put that battery into the new bike and ran it for a further 4 years until I got the Z1000sx, it's now sat on a shelf should I need it for anything else.

There was a website great texas battery cook off (or something along those lines) where the owner took several branded batteries and submitted them to 2 years of test (including firing up a dodge viper or charger) using the bike batteries, motobatt came out one of the best, ill see if I can find the Web page

burty new battery fitted start stop kill switch cleaned and checked but still no joy... You mentioned the fuel pump priming... Tbh I can't hear the pump making any noise at all... Is that fuse related?   Looks like it's off to a professional to get sorted..

When you first turn the ignition on you should hear the pump whirr for a second or two.  It's a very charactistic noise you won't miss it.  If you don't hear it then it's definitely worth checking all the fuses. 
2017 Z1000SX, in black.  Roughly 70000 miles and 8 years on SXs.

totally agree burty every fuel injected bike I've had since my 1999 TL1000 Fireblade R1's have all had that whirr... You take it for granted after a while but when it doesn't that's when my talent runs out.. No good with ecu's and computers... Anyhoo it's getting picked up tomorrow and off to a top spanner man Mucky Al will get it sorted 👍 and it can have a full service while it's there, maybe chuck some new boots on as well got a brand new set in the cupboard...

Bike went off to Clarendon Motors and Al soon had the bike computer plugged into his lap top. A replacement blown fuse and knackered relay later purring like a kitten... Only worrying part about a computer diagnostic is it chucks up all sorts of error codes... Sensors out of sync and wotnot anyhoo all sorted full service and new tyres.. Massive thanks to Al and the guys top job and great value... And the motobatt is in and going strong.... Awsome now to get another soaking no doubt as the manky weather sets in... Don't you just love it 😁
