Moving on...
on: 16 Sep 20, 12:40:46
After an excellent weekend at Cadwell Park on the SX a couple of weeks ago, it's finally time to move on to something new.

I bought my Z1000SX from JMW on this very forum about 3.5 years ago and aside from an issue with the fuel pump, it's been faultless. In that time, the bike has done two trackdays (Snetterton and Cadwell) and three trips around Spain and Portugal.

Unfortunately I had the chance to test ride the new BMW S1000RR at the weekend and I was amazed at how comfortable and easy to ride it was, I actually fit that bike better than I do the SX. I was hoping the cost of the bike would put me off, but they cut me a pretty good deal on a new RR Sport and with my SX going in for £4000 and me throwing in £1500 cash to avoid paying as much interest at 6.9% as I can, the monthly payments work out to £56 over 3 years.

I did think about test riding the new Ninja SX as well, but I think I have a superbike itch that needs scratching while I'm still in my 20s and my spine allows it.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone on the forum over the years who has given me all sorts of advice and suggestions!

As a side note, if anyone is interested in a 2014 Z1000SX ABS Tourer (18,000 miles) and can better the dealer's offer of £4k then feel free to get in touch.

Ride safe everyone and I'm sure I'll be back again sometime in the future.

Cheers!  :820:

The S1000RR is a BEAST!!! Enjoy it. How tall are you? I couldn’t get comfortable on it!

It's a great looking machine that's for sure and your right about scratching the 'itch' whilst you still can.  :008:

I hope that you really enjoy it!  :031:

I'm 5' 10 with a 32-inch inseam, so pretty average.

Why not? You pay for it either way and the more you put in the less you pay in interest.

Should hopefully collect it this weekend!  :047:

and why not no pockets in shrouds

eyes wide open to the deal then go for it

i tested one a few years ago; dealer attitude and crap offer on my 2014 sx put me off

Sad times..

I've had the SX for almost a year and it's the longest I've owned any motorcycle so credit to the SX for sure!

I'm looking for something a bit more manageable in town by way of a triumph Street triple r (low)... But the px value is ridiculous and has inspired me to hold on to my SX maybe a little longer.

RR would be a dream bike for me but way too tall. Enjoy!

Sorry you're leaving Toon.

But are these figures a PCP deal? - £4000 p/ex + £1500 cash leaves 36x£56 (£2016) so £7516 for a new BMW ??

That sounds a good deal to me.
