GAP Insurance?
on: 07 Aug 20, 09:55:11
Has anyone managed to get Vehicle Replacement Insurance recently?

Everywhere I am looking, they are no longer offering VRI GAP for motorbikes, just RTI. But if you want to cover your car, you are fine.

Is there anyone out there still offering this policy?

I've had gap insurance (car2cover) on my 2013 and 2016SX's and found it to be very reasonable.

When I came to look for my Ninja 1000SX I was told by my previous insurer that due to underwriter changes they were no longer offering gap insurance on motorcycles. They said that this was due for a possible review later in the year.

Howver, I did find and get VRI gap insurance via "shortfall":  https://shortfall.co.uk

Whyhaveone, looks like their online quotation is down for bikes as well now

I too have vri with them for my 2017 Z1000sx & for the car as well, it was a reasonable price for a 5 Yr cover

I have had VRI on all my previous vehicles (both car and bike).
I was on the phone to Shortfall this morning, and they offered 4 years RTI for £159.
They said that their underwriters were no longer offering VRI.

It seems that motorcycles are/have become too risky for VRI insurance.  :006:

BeMoto are now offering RTI insurance. However, it's quite a bit more than my VRI insurance - almost double.  :006:

For me, it would still be worth doing.

Many years ago now on my bike, but these guys gave me what I wanted at a price I was OK paying.
Also covered my wife's new car a couple of years back  :028:
