Thanks for all the help so far all.

So my short list is looking like this:

Dunlop Roadsmart III
Metzeler Roadtex 01
Michelin Road 4 or 5
Pirelli Angel GT II

Any recommendations for good online tyre suppliers worth checking out?

Demon Tweeks were doing offers

a test in one of the rags said that R5 were a bit soft in the sidewall for the bike weight.  The test was on an 1250 RS but it is a similar weight to an SX. no idea if its correct

i have 01 on the SX and R5 on my tiger.  i had 01 on a ZZR and didn't notice any grip issues except odd wear patterns on the front

Just fitted a new set of Road Pilot 4s, which I’ve had on my last two bikes, they give me plenty of confidence in the wet, been advised to try the 5,s or Angel Gt,s due to motorway miles they supposedly last longer harder wearing in the central area, will probably go with the 5s tho
