IMO though, if they were that wide, there wouldn't be the aftermarket uptake there is for mirror extenders like the attached.
but if you were approaching the corner at a speed that didn't allow for braking and line adjustment prior to it, I would work on your riding and not look for an aftermarket mirror. By your logic if the car driver had been driving even faster and intruded further into your lane, it wouldn't have just been your mirror that got damaged!
When turning right, you should in the left 3rd of your lane giving you the most space and best visibility. Every
advanced group teaches this.
