It's a really neat way of doing it, as long as you can detach your accessory elsewhere. Once those pins are in that's it as they lock into place.

if once the pins are in and locked in I think it will be just easy to cut off the plug and fit a different connector . could use the complete new plug rather than just the pins , that way you can disconnect it if need be

Many options available. I’m happy with this method for the USB socket because it can also be disconnected on the spades at the back of it.

For the heated grips I’ll probably replace the whole connector as these could possibly fail in the future.

been under the seat again got the spare usb managed to open the connector up, easy when you know how ,put that back for the time being , removed the front l/hand black plastic , no problem same as my 2017 I had , what a twat to find the spare for the power outlet , think I have found it , they don't give you much loose cable on them by the looks of it , when I get my 12 volt socket think I will remove it again and cut the plug off , for were it is a piece of terminal block would do it . do you know what fuse powers this .

does anyone not know what the stock plug Kawasaki are using , surely we can get the plugs and just wire the power socket to it and just plug them together to save  interfering with the original stock plug ?????

If it were me I would purchase the pins needed / a superseal connector to harvest the pins and grommets from. Then instead of connecting the new connector direct to the accessories I would run a short piece of wire to the pin and put a small bullet connector othe end of each wire. That way you keep the oem connector, don't have to cut the bikes wiring loom and if you chose to replace the aux accessory with something else all you need to do is pop on a small bullet connector onto the accessory. And plug it into the bullet connector going into the oem connector you had made up.

I have ordered a couple of new plug in connectors think the easy way for me would be cut off the stock plug and join in the new connector using a couple of bullet connectors that way I can plug and unplug it if need be   Just two spade fittings then to go onto the power socket.  Like I said before why are Kawasaki making things awkward. If I can source the original connectors I will fit them have the usb one off for a sample but everywhere is closed at present    I was going to try a local auto electrics repair centre locallly

Boldie,

Like a numpty I set about adding the aux socket without searching properly thinking I would just need to connect to a couple of bullet connectors. But having a 2020 model I couldn't find the things. So I came across this topic. Can you tell me if the loom im pointing at below is the one where the connector for the power outlet is ? I've just gone through the pain of removing the fairing ( not to bad ) but wasnt sure where the connectors were.

Thanks in advance
steve
