Abs pipe joint nut size
on: 19 Jan 20, 02:26:43
Hello
Due to incompetence I need to replace the metal pipe that leads from the rear brake master cylinder to the ABS Unit.
I know the fitting on the M/C is a std 14mm bolt.
Please can someone tell me joint nut size on the ABS end so I can buy the correct flare  wrench ?

Thanks!

I have braided lines but still retains the metal pipe as there is a join part way along.

I've split the metal pipe at the master cylinder end and have ordered the replacement line (£158!😥).
I was concerned about bleeding the ABS pump, the line rear brake m/c and caliper.
How do I get the air out as its "uphill" from the rear m/c to the abs pump?

Cheers

It’s a rubber hose at the master cylinder,if that’s what’s damaged you could of got away with a braided hose. Anyway just bleed the system in the normal way, don’t try any reverse bleed it the abs pump won’t like it.

It's the metal hose that goes to the abs box.
Still just bleed in the normal way?

i use one of these for bleeding you don't need to but i find it easier

Mityvac Brake Bleed Kit

also, i though it was an urban myth but, tie the brake lever with a zip tie over night and, it gets the air to the top and out of the system

i did on mine and the brakes were spot on no sponge feel
