if I was getting a good deal I would buy one, but mine is only 9 months old with under 3,000 miles so I would be better to wait until 2021

Definitely, you'd lose a ton of cash chopping in such a new bike

its my next bike but I'll wait for the initial batch to go
i have found that the first batch is brought out and then a few months later they bring out little upgrades that were on the options list as standard fitment

i did test a 1250 rs for a day but by the time I'd ticked the options list i was at £14400 on the base model - still with the torque, it does shift, issues around clutches and electrics put me off

For the money you pay, think it’s impossible to find a better bike, yes there are better bikes, but they cost 5k plus more.

I may get the new one, can’t decide yet.

Just seen a pic of the new 'Ninja 1000'....looks as if they have simply thrown the thing together in a rush with that terrible exhaust!!     Like a few on here...keeping my 2019 SX simply because of the loss I'd incur but I have to say my 2019 SX is a brilliant bike.
I'd be changing to another make/model rather than buy this 'Ninja'.

To be fair, even accounting for the price the SX is a better bike than most.

All you are missing is a bit of tech (phone stuff etc).

I find that the BMW servicing costs are cheaper than the local Kawasaki dealers.

As for the new SX; I do like it and am tempted with changing my '16 plate up to the new one. For me though, as much as the engine is great as it is, It would have been nice to have seen an increase in performance.
Colour-wise I like the diablo black, but Kawasaki have been lazy, and the black markings on the fairings are vinyl decals.
I only have had one bmw , the 1600 gt new in 2015, don't think the service costs were any different to the Kawasaki, best bike I have ever had , but really- really heavy. thing is with bmw if you ever do have a problem you don't get mucked about , if you still have the bike under warranty (think they warrant them to 100,000 miles now )  they will replace any parts , I know of someone who had some paint flaking from his gearbox , they just renewed the gearbox !! they also give you free health checks and put right any defects before your warranty runs out ,

This is true - a mate of mine's battery has just gone down on a 2018 S1000R, a month out of warranty - BMW have inspected, tested and replaced the battery no questions asked.  The previous bike was a Triumph and they only warranted the battery for 6 months, battery died on that after 9 months - not interested...and Triumph bikes are often more expensive than BMW lately.  I would consider buying a BMW if only they made a bike that liked!  (R Nine T is cool though)
