Whos going to get the new SX - Sorry Ninja 1000
« on: December 04, 2019, 09:35:43 AM »

Good look here at the new bike,

Looks good, not wildly different,

Struggling a little with the single exhaust as the near side looks a bit naked weird to me.

Dont like the phone stuff.

Colours look okay,

H2 SX type grey silver - probably be the most popular colour
Green doesnt look great this year
White is a bit disappointing, I feel they could have gone for a more interesting white variant, but probably a good base colour to spruce up

Have been to local kawasaki to enquire about PX ing mine, am on fence until I see it, but they are in the showroom mid/late February so most will go out new 1st March

Anyone getting one?

Nah, I'm probably going a different route from my 2018 Z1000SX, I'm looking at either a Z900RS or BMW R-Nine-T.  I like my SX but I think it lacks character.

I'm lucky,  have a 2019 SX and a 2018 Z900RS Cafe.  Both excellent bikes ( I think the SX has a better gearbox but only done 1,600 miles of the cafe so far )
I'd find it quite hard to improve on my SX for what it is.

I agree, the SX is almost perfect.  I think I'm leaning towards the R nine T though - it's the only BMW I like if I'm honest and I rode one in the summer and really enjoyed it.

Agreed, almost bought one but went for a new MT09 Sport Tracker.  Still fancy R9T but not a fan of my local BMW dealer.

The BMW dealer in my area is what is putting me off too, they're shite.  Was thinking of getting a minter that's out of warranty and doing all my own servicing.  Still thinking of the Z900RS Cafe though, still a beautiful bike.

BMW dealers have put me off when I have been there to look around and also heard a few horror stories with BMW servicing/repair costs.

Plus the bikes are mega money and make the kawasaki look cheap.

I investigated the 1200RS (I think) which is now the 1250 before I got mine, and I was looking at £14 - £16k for equivalent with touring and you could get them up to £20k if you went nuts with the options.

Everything is extra.

On the plus side they hold their value

The Z900 is a good choice, but not really a comparable bike to the SX I guess

I find that the BMW servicing costs are cheaper than the local Kawasaki dealers.

As for the new SX; I do like it and am tempted with changing my '16 plate up to the new one. For me though, as much as the engine is great as it is, It would have been nice to have seen an increase in performance.
Colour-wise I like the diablo black, but Kawasaki have been lazy, and the black markings on the fairings are vinyl decals.

Love my 2017 SX - just fitting top box and plan to get another year on her as we ride 2 up - once GF gets her own bike I will look at the H2 SX SE - more sporty looking and by then can fit a SHAD box too lol.

I'll most likely be trading in my 2016 model for this.

It still ticks all the boxes for me!  :047:
