Factory fit quickshifter
« on: November 17, 2019, 01:00:42 PM »
Hi all,
As the 2020 ninja1000sx will have a quickshifter as factory fit standard.  Do you think that this will be a retro fit option for the current and previous models.
All the best to all.   :031:

I'd love a factory retro fit quickshifter and a TFT screen on my 2018, I dread to think of the price though.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Yep i like the sound of getting new toys like tft screens and quickshifters.  Maybe the kawasaki quickshifter is based on one of the aftermarket quickshifters already available.

I don't think it can be retrofitted. As far as I know they changed the throttle to ride-by-wire. This allows for cruise control and better throttle management. The quickshifter is probably piggybacked on the ride-by-wire.

You just need to be able to cut the ignition circuit when changing gear, so there is reason why a quick shifter can’t be retrofitted.

As mentioned above, the ride by wire is for the cruise control.

Am I correct in thinking the quickshifter on the 2020 also works going down the box as well,if so I presume it would need an auto blipper necessitating a ride by wire throttle, sadly not going to the bike show this year to look for myself ?
