Headlights LED
« on: October 09, 2019, 08:26:28 AM »
What do people think of the LED headlights on the SX?

I am not getting on with them at the mo, I like to ride at night and have trouble with the lights on dark roads and struggle to keep the bike much above 40mph...

Went out the other night to test the wet weather riding (Funny how it stops raining when you want it to) and tyres were fine, but still struggling with lights.

When bike was new I went back to Kawasaki with it to check the alignment and they said all was correct,

Used to love going night riding, but am struggling on this one, is it just me?

I find the LED headlight to be a massive upgrade over the previous halogen units, it's probably the best upgrade they made.  I'm surprised you're not getting on with it, high beam lights up the entire county!

To be fair the high beam is all okay, no worries there, apart from the hold switch which has to be held quite hard to keep it on,

(Still learning the button on/off in the dark  :002: )

What year is your bike ? Are you sure you have LED’s. Mine are fantastic, as were the one’s on my 2015 bike why I changed them to LED  :187:

It is a recent bike (2019), but all the bikes I have had have been LED so maybe I have been spoilt in the past.

The best bike (for lights) I had was a 2014 Honda PCX (125), the lights on that were amazing and nothing since has lived up to that bike (in the light department! (or fuel lol)

Sorry to ask, but have you adjusted the light beam for when your sat on the bike?

I think mine are fantastic and are better than my car.

When my bike was new I found the lights were set too low and adjusted them up a little, maybe you should try the same.

Hi

That sounds like a good idea, will try that, I am quite heavy so maybe that is affecting it a bit and I can push it up a bit,

It seems the lit area is well lit, just not enough of it...

And this too, there is probably a bit of tolerance in things to edge it up a bit too...
