 but try some tape around the levers, the cold metal sucks the heat out of the fingertips  :190:, ive used coloured electrical tape to match previous bikes , black binding tape , its a tip my Dad gave me 30yrs ago and it still works for me .
even wit heated grips and gloves its the fingertips every time that get it :820:
its not the speed that kills, its the sudden stop!

I get the not wanting handguards, I wouldn't either.

But the only other option is to have heated gloves. Quite a bit of choice out there
