Northampton Moto, any thoughts on this dealer?
« on: June 11, 2019, 08:03:48 AM »
After a test ride with a local dealer, I have been looking for a price with other Kawasaki dealerships.
Northampton  Moto  can sell me one in my choice of colour with the touring package for £500 less than locally and I have been assured the bike is new and unregistered.
Sound too go to be true?
Anybody used this outfit in the past?
Thanks in advance. :828:

I've not dealt with that particular dealership but when I was looking for my SX there was quite a variation in deals up and down the country.

£500 better between one and another dosen't seem too unusual.

Does that include delivery?

Would your local dealer negotiate?

IMHO Sometimes better dealing relatively close to home in case there are any issues. Not saying there will be and of course there is the warranty.

Differences in service costs could swing it as well. My first two or three are discounted for example.

Good luck!!

Also look at the servicing costs down the line and make sure the cheaper dealer doesn't just claw back that £500 over the next three years or so in over inflated service costs

The cheaper dealer has cheaper servicing costs than the more expensive dealer.
Is £170 odd for the 600 mile service justifiable?
Have jumped in anyway and put my deposit down and will be collecting in 10 days  :001:

I got my Sx from these guys and no complaints...got a good deal few bits thrown it with a free first 600 miles service...not much good if your miles away though....think you will be happy with the service, part of a big network with good buying power but like the local dealer aspect....good luck with it all..... :031:

Used them to fix a puncture and got great service. They are part of a wider group, can’t recall the name, but same group as Colchester Kawasaki where I got mine from. I’ll be using them for my next service too.

I had same dilemma when I chose mine, best deal I got was from Dealer in London after speaking to about 10 different ones, they were £700 cheaper than my local dealer but managed to negotiate with local dealer and they got to within £50 and I don’t have to go into London and they give half price 1st service

Motorcycles direct.

I got mine from Colchester kawasaki but I find they are not keen to discount and they can be pricy for service. Guy in service nick is a top bloke though.

£170 seems very expensive for the first service which is basically an oil and filter change + a checkover. There was a thread on here where people gave the prices they paid which varied considerably.

Good luck with it all and enjoy the bike  :830:

There's no requirement to service with the dealer you bought it from, or even with a main dealer.
