Fuel tank off! Now bike won't start...
« on: January 21, 2019, 10:30:42 PM »
I took the time to fit a Scott oiler the proper way, so I've had the tank off, I've now re-fitted everything, now the bike will turn over but won't start. I've checked for trapped wires pipes etc beneath tank and all seems good. Anyone experienced this before?

Does the fuel pump prime when you first turn the key?

Did the same thing yesterday with my Dl1000. Found that I'd failed to connect the connector underneath the tank at the same time as I connected the hoses. Fortunately it was visible without removing the tank so I simply reconnected it and it struck up first turn-Result.

Worth checking the fuel hose is fully pressed home over the nozzle on the end of the pump. If i remember rightly it can feel like its pushed on but then needs another 5 or 10mm of movement to be fully seated before you put the red plastic clip down to lock it in place.

Foxy, yeah I made the mistake, fuel came out, its fully home now. May just require turning over more  once battery is connected to power pack.

Good shout from Foxy.
Make sure the red lock clip is visible when looking from the metal tube side. This proves the flexible pipe is properly pushed home.

Nope, tube is all the way in and clip fully home. When I said turning over I meant the engine not the pipe.  :001:

(SOLVED)

One of the 2 electrical connections on the front of the air box wasn't fully home,  :430:
