Innovv K2
« on: January 14, 2019, 12:22:11 PM »
Having fitted one of these systems over the Xmas period, but not getting to ride the bike - Update on this and much to my annoyance  :230: Bike was dead this morning!

A quick Google search found LOTS of threads, but it seems they actually already know there is a MAJOR problem if you don't ride daily!  :192:

For anyone who has one of these systems, read here: https://www.innovv.com/forum/innovv-k2/how-innovv-k2-smart-converter-works

I've ordered the diode and will fit it, but i'm really not impressed so far for the money paid!  :023:

That's a pain but is why I've got my bike camera (cheap Chinese, but works fine) fixed to a switched live, in this case the tail light.

Ok, it won't record when parked, but for me that's not a major issue.

How are you getting on with the cheap camera whyhaveone. I keep looking at these on Amazon but I'm put of with the fact the control unit isn't waterproof.

Received a new updated power converter yesterday and everything is now working as expected  :028:

Took a while, but support has been good and I do like these cameras  :047:

The converter is what connects the system to the bikes power.
The initial version drained the battery, so I had to make a small modification installing a voltage rectifying diode and not enabling parking mode  :006:

All sorted now though and love the plug, play and forget about nature of them!

I cannot confirm, but would assume all new sales will have the new convertor. I'd check with the seller before purchase for clarification to make sure.

Parking mode does put added strain on the battery, but over night works fine  :028: Haven't tested further....

It works perfectly most of the time. Just occasionally it takes time to 'wake up', but that seems to be when I've not ridden for a while.
I have the control unit under the seat, so no problems re waterproofing.
