not exactly 'summer' but three of us (one SX, two S1000R's  :004:) are going to spend the weekend near Le Mans for the MotoGP in May.  Anyone done the Newhaven to Dieppe crossing?  and what did they think of it?

We use the Newhaven ferry when we go to Normandy,it is half the price of Portsmouth/Le Harvre. It drops you off ridiculously early in the morning if you use the late night crossing and the Port at either end has nothing at all going for it. You can't argue with 3 adults, one car, return £155. Cheers,Bladesman.

Anyone been to Spain early April (or very late March) either Santander or Bilbao heading into the Pyrenees.

Looking to camp as well, so main question is would weather be good, enough!

I may stay in BB/Hotels if required but prefer to camp.

Myself and 2 mates are off to Le Mans as well, but we're going from Portsmouth to st Malo and riding down from there.
Keep your eye out for an SX, a Triumph Thunderbird with a supercharger on it and an FJR 1300, that'll be us, come and say hello.
You'd hear the triumph before you saw it, the noisy bastard.

Did Santander-Barcelona in May a few years back and it pissed down for the whole week. There are worse places than Barcelona to get holed up in, but did fancy a bit of Pyrenees action. Not sure if that was typical, but the whole of NE Spain/SW France was a washout.

That’s what worries me. As I know what it can rain like in Spain that time of the year, even on the Costa it can rain days on end solid, heavy heavy rain.

If not Spain in April where then  :830:

Yeah, that's the problem - just pack some waterproofs and go for it - you might get a week of glorious dry roads, or you might have to settle for a bit of sightseeing,  it'll still be a holiday!
