How much extra are they planning to charge you to change the plugs?

If you know what you are doing it's really only a 30 minute job even with having to lift the tank and remove the air filter.  Plugs are about £40 a set although I have seen them sold for more, then it's just labour and honestly you could do it in 30 mins, certainly less than an hour.

I'm not suggesting that you do it, just that it shouldn't cost more than an hour's labour and the cost of the plugs.

Absolutely.  The airbox fills the space between the frame rails above the engine, under the tank.  Removing it isn't actually very difficult.

Work. On my cars all the time.and for years so I'm happy to work on the bike but it's how it affects the 4 year warranty I have that concerns me. Having said that though the plug change at 7.5k is on the kawi service schedule so ut shouldn't be an issue if I say no to the stealer and his labour rate and just do it my self.

Basically double the cost - £160 V £320. Their labour rate is something like £60/hr.

Dealer ignored my request not to, and changed the plugs at the 7.5k service! Stating that they always follow the manufacturers guidelines for servicing.
I would have been happy to leave them in until first valve check service and saved money on the 7.5k.

They also left the engine management light on when I picked her up  :230: consequently, I will be changing dealers for next service!

Ironically, they were just awarded MCN multi-franchise dealer of the year for the region hmmm... :006:  Never had a problem with sales department, but service team have really let the side down, for other issues prior to this as well!

So they are saying it takes two hours labour to change the spark plugs?    Ask them how they justify that?  Honestly it really isn't more than a 30 min job.

Bring it to me and I'll do it for you for £100, with plugs thrown in.

I take it that's the dealership in Maidstone.   I know them well.  I would recommend that you try  Bowen Moto in Chatham.  They are not cheap but they always do a thorough job.
