hello from Portugal
« on: October 29, 2018, 02:19:29 PM »
Hi!
I'm a new member and this is my first post.
I'm from Portugal, Lisbon and 2 weeks ago I got a z1000sx 2011, and I'm fascinated.
I came from a MT-09 tracer, and didn't regret the upgrade.
cheers

Hello and welcome  :031:

I have just had a few days in portugal on the SX, brilliant time, Road down from Braganca to the Duoro valley, had a great meal in a restaurant by a railway siding.
Fab roads, views were breathtaking, so glad  i went.

Enjoy your SX
Cheers

Thank you all guys.
Z1000sx will be my daily ride to work, with sun, rain, wind, on summer and winter.
Does anyone use it with the same purpose?
I don't feel so comfy as when I ride the Tracer 900 on rainy days.
Maybe it's my impression cause I had the tracer for almost 3 years.

Yes you will need to get used to the SX handling, however, it is very good.

Check your tyres: make/age/tread depth. If old replace with a current generation such as Pirelli Angel GT/Metzeler Roadtec 01 etc.

Depending upon the mileage it may also be worth looking at replacement shocks and front fork fettling.

I'm sure you will grow to love your SX.
